GAC Motor Selects Spirent Solutions for Automotive Ethernet Conformance Testing
Beijing - January 23, 2019 – Spirent Communications plc(LSE:SPT),a leading provider of connected car and automotive Ethernet test solutions, today announced that GAC Motor Company(GAC Motor), an affiliate of Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd (GAC Group), a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest Chinese OEMs, has selected Spirent automotive test solutions to verify next-generation in-vehicle networking for its automobiles.
Automotive Ethernet networking is being adopted by automotive OEMs around the world. With GAC Motor’s commitment to delivering new in-car capabilities and to meet the high expectations of its customers, choosing Spirent’s test system with C50 Appliance and TTworkbench automation tool, was a logical step to help develop and verify its automotive Ethernet systems and determine the best Ethernet designs for its vehicles.
Spirent solutions help verify the Ethernet ECUs conformance with OPEN Alliance TC8 test cases, as well as the latest time-sensitive networking (TSN) protocols. For this task, Spirent offers the full-featured integrated test development and execution environment, SpirentTTworkbench, which can be used for any kind of test automation project. Combined with the Spirent C50 Appliance, TTworkbench offers a variety of functions including DUT monitoring and simulation. It includes support for all of the international standard test cases, including the OPEN Alliance TC8 test suites and IEEE 802.1 TSN protocols — features critical for GAC Motor.
“Spirent TTworkbench and its easy-to-use test environment will help GAC Motor verify that the in-car Ethernet networks are robust enough to support TSN and the advanced applications in connected cars,” said Thomas Schulze, Director of Marketing and Business Development for Spirent’s automotive business. “As vehicles become more connected and autonomous, Spirent is enabling automotive vendors to easily verify their devices in different phases of design and validation, making the path to certification even easier.”
