Spirent Avalanche NEXT Wins Best of Interop 2014 Award
Sunnyvale, Calif. – April 7, 2014 — Spirent Communications, a leader in testing networks, services and devices, announced today that Spirent Avalanche NEXT has won the Best of Interop 2014 Award in the Performance category. According to the judges, Avalanche NEXT won because it delivers application performance testing capabilities into the realm of traditional IT.
“Performance load testing has historically been a complex and costly process, because building and verifying the test bed, defining the tests, and interpreting the results required expertise in a variety of disciplines,” said Mike Fratto, Principal Analyst at Current Analysis and Best of Interop Judge.
“With excellent ease of use, flexibility, and predictability, Avalanche NEXT brings complex testing within reach of the average enterprise,” added Ethan Banks, founder Packet Pushers Interactive and Best of Interop Judge.
Avalanche NEXT accurately tests the performance, scalability and security of today’s application-aware network infrastructures by generating authentic traffic and attacks. It generates applications based upon actual scenarios for load, functional, and security testing that best mimic real world conditions. The solution’s intuitive GUI enables users to quickly and easily build custom tests based upon packet captures, generating a scenario with new protocol timings and mixes.
“We are very pleased to earn this prestigious recognition from the Best of Interop,” said Angus Robertson, Vice President Marketing, Networks & Applications Group at Spirent Communications. “Testing performance loads has traditionally been complex and costly. As a simplified test platform, with profiles that include both performance and security tests packaged together, Avalanche NEXT effectively removes those barriers. It requires no specialized expertise to create and run tests and is very cost effective.”
The Best of Interop Awards recognize exhibitors that have made significant technological advancements in specific category areas. The winners in each category represent the products that the teams of judges believe have the most significant technical impact on their segment and are helping to move business technology forward.
