Spirent Customers Kick Off Major Network Automation Expansions In North America
MWC AMERICAS, LOS ANGELES - SEPTEMBER 12, 2018 – Spirent Communications plc (LSE:SPT), the trusted provider of test, measurement, assurance and analytics solutions for next-generation devices and networks, today announced accelerated expansions of critical network automation capabilities for top North American mobile operators. After successful initial rollouts of Spirent VisionWorks for unified service assurance, these operators are significantly expanding the deployments to automate more than 50 different operational, engineering and customer care functions. The deployments will deliver seven-times faster service activation, millions in cost savings and higher-quality, differentiated market offerings.
Consumers, enterprises and vertical industries have become accustomed to seamless cloud-based experiences with flawless performance. To better compete, mobile operators must bring new, differentiated services to market more quickly and at much lower costs. Automation makes this possible by streamlining processes like service rollout, quality monitoring, problem resolution and customer care. This approach requires fewer resources, helps the operator move faster, and delivers optimal performance and quality.
“Over the past year, mobile network operators have accelerated their automation plans to get ahead of the competitive threats they face,” said Dave Stehlin, general manager of Lifecycle Service Assurance (LSA) for Spirent. “Spirent has been ready with automated LSA solutions that assure the promises these operators make to deliver high quality networks and competitive services. Our VisionWorks offering helps operators address the need for automation in today’s physical and early-stage virtual networks with support for a wide range of use cases that deliver immediate value. This is laying a foundation for next-generation cloud-native networks that will realize the full potential of automation.”
Spirent’s pioneering LSA solutions rapidly automate network processes, with return on investment realized in as little as 12 months. In the company’s expanded North American VisionWorks deployments, which are taking place in the United States and Mexico, it is bringing its latest service assurance capabilities to mobile emergency, VoLTE, data and messaging services. This includes automation of service activation, SLA performance monitoring, multi-tiered customer care issue resolution, call handling and more. The company’s VisionWorks Virtual Test Platforms are a key component of these deployments, supporting migration away from physical probes to flexible, software-based virtual test agents that make it cost-effective to proactively monitor services virtually anywhere in the network.
As great customer experiences become the next competitive battleground for wireline, cable and mobile operators, Spirent’s LSA solutions are delivering real-time operational analytics to address issues before they impact service performance and customer experiences, by leveraging automation, analytics and active testing technologies. The company will showcase its LSA solutions for 5G, NFV and IoT this week at Mobile World Congress Americas at Stand S.2456 located in Hall South.
